As part of the ongoing Zagat Presents series, during Craft Beer Week in New York City Per Se offered a unique evening featuring Brew-master Garrett Oliver of Brooklyn Brewery, showcasing innovative concepts and approaches to beer and food pairing. Highlighting selections from Brooklyn Brewery’s collection paired with a seven-course tasting menu created by Per Se Chef de Cuisine Jonathan Benno, Oliver led an informal discussion throughout the evening that discussed his techniques, influences as well as the fundamentals behind each pairing. Oliver also debuted new selections during the event, offering guests an opportunity to experience upcoming Brewery releases.

My collection of Montana and Montana-area beers that I smuggled back into Saskatchewan. The Rogue Beard Beer is brewed with yeasts from the brewer’s own old growth face forest. I have yet to try it, out of fear.
